"Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates." Deuteronomy 4: 6-9

Advent Calendar

We decided to start an advent calendar with the boys this year. Instead of doing the traditional candy or treat each day, we picked out scriptures to read, and activities to do as a family each day. We have made some wonderful memories this past month, and Carson has learned more about the birth of Jesus. One of my favorite days was making hot chocolate and stirring it with candy canes. We read the scripture in Luke that talks about the shepherds, then shared with Carson how the shepherds staff looks like a candy cane. He tells everyone about it now!
We made homemade Christmas cards for our friends and family, and painted ornaments. Even TT helped. Good thing we use non-toxic paint! I love Carson's expression as he realizes Tanner has been tasting the paint! We have looked at Christmas lights, had a dance party to our favorite Christmas songs, made paper snowflakes, and most recently popped popcorn and watched our favorite Christmas movie, VeggieTales Little Drummer Boy. Love making memories with our sweet boys!
