"Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates." Deuteronomy 4: 6-9

Trick or Treating

This year we decided to give trick or treating a shot. We went out to my parents for dinner, then got the kids all dressed up in their costumes to walk around my parents cul-de-sac. Our family photo on Halloween... Carson was a rockstar. He loves to play his guitar, and this was the most fitting for him this year!
We dressed Tanner up in a St. Louis Cardinals baseball outfit. The hat just makes the outfit!
Hannah was a ladybug. What a cute buggy she was!
We loaded them up in the wagon and went to several houses. They did such a good job! Hannah followed Carson wherever he went. Carson said "Trick or Treat" most of the time, and always "thank you".
Carson decided towards the end of the night that he wanted to pull Hannah.
Trick or treating was so much fun!

Visiting Peepaw & Great Grandma

My grandparents invited us all up to their house for a soup luncheon. We had chili, white chicken chili, and vegetable soup - all very delicious! They were excited to get to see their great grandkids. Carson decided while we were there to start calling my grandfather, "Peepaw". We all thought it was so cute, and that's Great Grandpa's new name! One of our favorite things to do while visiting them is to take their golf cart for a spin.
It's hard to get Carson away from it. He even knows how to put the key in the ignition!
We had a great time visiting and playing outside. We can't wait to visit again!

Pumpkin Patch

Our favorite pumpkin patch to visit is at the Sanlando United Methodist Church in Longwood. We have picked out our pumpkins there for the past 3 years. Here was our first visit with Carson when he was only 1 month old... Our second visit Carson was just over a year, and we had just found out that we were expecting... Now this year we are a family of four... Carson knows just what to do! Time for a little bean bag game...
Daddy and Carson found the perfect pumpkin! Then we headed home to carve the pumpkin. This was the first year we actually carved the pumpkin. Matt had never carved a pumpkin before, and of course we can't just do something simple. Carson picked out a Mickey Mouse template! Carson wasn't so sure about all the icky stuff coming out of the pumpkin! Carson was very helpful. At one point, Mickey Mouse's face completely fell out...haha! Matt had to put toothpicks in it to put it back. :) The end result was perfect, and Matt and Carson were pleased with their Mickey Mouse jack-o-lantern!

Halloween Storytime

We have come a long way in our adventures to storytimes, especially ones like at the mall where Carson has free reign of the bookstore! Although we had a little bit of an issue 30 minutes prior, we worked through it (Mommy and Carson BOTH needed a breather!) and made it to storytime on time. Carson just had to be center stage while singing "Itsy Bitsy Spider" - one of his favorites!
All the books were centered around pumpkins or Halloween stories.
After songs and stories, it was coloring time. Such a fun morning!

Mr. Richard Costume Party

Chick-Fil-A hosted a costume party featuring Carson's favorite kid entertainer, Mr. Richard!! If Mr. Richard had a Halloween costume out there, that's what Carson would have been for Halloween - he just loves him! One of Carson's best buds Landon was there to rock too!
This picture says it all. Here's Carson in awe of Mr. Richard. What a fun night dancing to Mr. Richard!

Hannah Grace

Carson and Hannah have the best time together. Now that Hannah is talking more and interacting more with Carson, they do everything together. When Hannah goes down for a nap in the mornings, Carson continually asks for "Hannah Grace". If she is still at our house when he goes down for a nap, he will ask for "Hannah Grace" the second he wakes up. They just love each other! Here they are being silly in Carson's bed. And they love reading stories together too! We have so much fun with Hannah in the mornings and love being able to play with her everyday!

Sarah turns 10!

Our niece Sarah had her 10th birthday party at the Old Key West Resort at Disney. Peter Pan was the theme of her party. Sarah dressed up as Peter Pan, Michael was a pirate, Brooke and Ali were fairies, and Carson and Tanner were the lost boys (note the pajamas). Tinkerbell Ali!
Getting ready to play pin the feather on Peter Pan's hat.
Marie had a delicious pineapple cake made by Sprinkles. After the festivities indoors, we headed to the resort's awesome pool and playround. Little swimming buddies!
Robbie and Jessica's sweet baby boy Tyler joined in on the fun too.
So grown up! What a fun day we had celebrating Sarah!

Corn Maze

We visited Long & Scott Farms today! We had great weather for all the outdoor activities. Carson is ready for the fun! And Tanner too!
First stop was the seesaw. Nana and Papa have to join in. Carson loved it!
We played a little bean bag toss game. Hannah would drop the bean bag in the hole and look for it, so cute!
Next stop was the hayride.
We recently took Carson on the Jungle Boat ride at Disney where there are animals to find and look at. He kept asking me, "Find dinosaurs, find monkeys". Sorry buddy, nothing but corn and fields to look at on this ride!
Hannah hangs out on our side for a bit.
Then it was off to the kiddie corn maze! It's a little intimidating being surrounded by nothing but corn! You have no idea what direction you are headed and no idea where the exit is! Luckily we weren't "lost" for too long. Jacob and Brooke pose for a photo.
After our corn maze adventure, our last stop was a small putting green. Carson had a blast playing golf and we all enjoyed the shade for a bit!

Bridesmaid dress shopping

Matt and I are super excited to be apart of Brooke and Jacob's wedding day. I will be a bridesmaid, and Matt will be a groomsmen. The wedding is set for July 2, 2011. When Jacob and Brooke came home for the weekend, Brooke took some of us to David's Bridal to look at bridesmaid dresses. The last time I stepped foot in David's Bridal was almost 4 years ago, and it was very exciting to be back in wedding mode!
Tanner tagged along too and was quite helpful! :) We ended up finding the perfect dress and ordered them the following day! Brooke has 2 more girls in the wedding not pictured below. We can't wait for their special day!
