"Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates." Deuteronomy 4: 6-9

Happy Birthday Mommy

My 26th birthday was last week. Matt was an awesome husband and made my birthday very special! First he surprised me with 2 gifts that were really for Carson's room, but I've been wanting for awhile. Then he had a whole date planned with dinner in Celebration, my favorite after dinner treat, Starbucks, and a movie! Nana and Papa watched Carson overnight so that we could stay out late. We definitely took advantage of the time and had so much fun out on the town! Then after all of that, he had another gift for me the morning of my actual birthday. So sweet! Carson's birthday present to me was letting me take a nice long nap! :)

Carson is on the move!!!

Last weekend, Matt finally figured out how to put together this walking push toy that Aunt Lori let Carson borrow. Carson had been playing with the fun toys on the front of it for weeks. I stood Carson up to it thinking he would just hold on to it and fall back down, but he TOOK off through the house pushing this toy. I was laughing so hard and grabbed the video camera. I videoed him for several minutes walking all over the living room. Here is a video that Papa took on his camera. It won't be long before he's running like this all on his own.

Visiting Great Grandma Betty

On Sunday, Carson and I went with my parents to visit Great Grandma Betty. She has been very ill the past couple of months and is still in a rehab facility waiting to get better. She is ready to go home and could use some cheering up! Carson is definitely good at making people smile, and he did just that by showing off at the Nursing home. He showed everyone his new tricks, including clapping, dancing (more like headbanging) and saying "Papa"!

We had a big blanket spread out in the lobby for him to play on. He was a magnet for all of those older ladies! A rehab dog came in while we were playing and Carson loved seeing the dog. Here is Uncle Jacob letting the dog lick all over Carson. He was squealing and laughing!

On the way home, Nana thought it would be a good idea to get ice cream. She sat in the backseat with Carson and he ate most of her ice cream! If any of the ice cream would fall below his lip he would quickly stick his tongue out and get every last drop!

And what could be better than ending a fun day with a quick ride on Papa's lawn mower? He lunges at the lawn mower every time we walk into their garage! It's one of Papa and Carson's favorite things to do together.

Favorite sound in the evening

Carson loves his Daddy! Matt would always say when Carson was really little that he couldn't wait until Carson could run up to him when he got home from work. Carson doesn't run just yet, but he sure can crawl fast! One of my favorite sounds to hear in the evening is Matt walking through the door and Carson crawling as fast as he can to him while squealing! Matt gets the biggest hugs! I love watching my 2 boys together!

Choo Choo!!

Today, Carson and I went to a birthday party for our friend Logan. Logan had a choo choo train at his party that looked just like Thomas the train. We got to ride around Logan's street for awhile. Carson had so much fun and was clapping his hands and making motor sounds! Renting a train for one of Carson's birthdays may be in our future!

Happy 4th of July!

Carson's first 4th of July! We started out our day by visiting Great Grandma in the hospital. She was very glad we came to visit her. Then we went swimming in my grandparents community pool. Carson loved his new floatie that Daddy bought him.

We made homemade ice cream, one of Great Grandpa's favorite things to make on the 4th of July and later took some to Great Grandma. After visiting with Uncle Bud and Aunt Cathy, and Uncle Scott, Aunt Kim, and the girls, we headed to Tavares to watch the fireworks show!

Carson's first reaction is best described in this photo! :) He never cried, just looked a bit freaked out at first. I was nervous that the sound would bother him, and was expecting a hysterical child that I would have to run back to the car, but he never got upset!

Some of Matt's family joined us for the show too! We had such a good time listening to the patriotic music play to an awesome firework display.

By the middle of the show, and all the way til' the end, Papa had Carson clapping (his new favorite thing to do!) after EVERY firework! It was so cute! Carson did a great job staying up until 10:00 pm and fell fast asleep when he got in the car to go home. Happy first 4th of July Carson! We hope you had as much fun as we all did with you!

Fun with Cousins

On our way up to the Villages to visit family, we had to make a stop in Eustis to help Uncle Steve catch one of his cows that was on the loose! Carson and I stayed in the car with Ali, Brooke, and Sarah while everyone else got all hot and sweaty! We had fun waiting!
