"Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates." Deuteronomy 4: 6-9

Happy Birthday Carson!

Typical new parents with their first child's first birthday...set the alarm for 2:15 am, so that we could kiss him at 2:19 am, the exact time he was born...haha...then we went into his room when he woke up with the video camera rolling, poor thing! He should be used to this type of behavior from us by now! :) Here's his birthday breakfast, cinnamon rolls, with his highchair decked out in "1'st birthday" attire! Carson and Mommy played all day with his new toys he got from his birthday party. When Daddy got home, we ordered pizza and played and swang some more.
Later, Nana and Papa and Aunt Jamie, Uncle Will, and Hannah came over to visit. I had made Carson a homemade cake, and we sang to him again, he loved it! Such a big boy! Carson is a huge blessing in our lives and we love him to pieces!

Carson's 1st Birthday Party

It's so hard to believe that our little angel is one! Everyone told us that the time would fly by, and it certainly did. What a fun year it has been watching Carson grow into this hilarious, mischievious little boy. He is a riot! For his birthday party, we did the theme, "Bubbles, Balls, and Bouncing" - all things Carson LOVES to do! We had a small ball pit, bubbles with lots of fun accessories, a blow up trampoline (loaned to us by Uncle Steve and Aunt Lori), a swing, and a craft station.

Matt and I spent weeks preparing for Carson's big bash! On the morning of his party, the weatherman gave us some bad news....rain! We were a bit bummed, since the party was all outdoors, but that's what you get for living in Florida! We put up some tents and made the best out of it. We were very blessed and only had a few light sprinkles during the party. Carson thoroughly enjoyed himself and went non stop the entire time!

We had 33 adults and 15 kids crammed into our house during the food, cake, and presents. During the "Happy Birthday" song, Carson smiled at all of us while we sang, and then clapped for us when it was over. So cute!! He definitely did not need us to show him how to dig into his smash cake. He went for it, and was covered in minutes!

The party was a hit and everyone enjoyed themselves...especially the birthday boy!

Spaghetti Face!

The classic spaghetti face picture that every parent has! Carson thoroughly enjoyed his spaghetti for the first time. He literally had his entire hand in his mouth at one point, trying to get every single noodle off of his hand. It was hilarious and quite the mess afterwards.

Daddy's helper

Matt and I are still working on several projects around our house. Matt took some of the interior doors off this weekend to paint them. The other night, Matt put Carson's door back on, and Carson was very into what Daddy was doing. Matt sat Carson on his lap and showed him how to put the screwdriver onto the door hinges, then gave the screwdriver to Carson. Carson instantly put the screwdriver (backwards) onto the hinges and started banging away. So cute!

I love my cousin Hannah!

I honestly don't think anything could be more precious than these 2 little angels together! Carson has just taken to Hannah and Hannah doesn't seem to mind her cousin Carson's craziness! He just wants to grab her and is so sweet! Of course we are always on guard because at any minute his kisses can turn into a major "pat pat!"

He is just in awe of her in this picture and it's just so cute! Carson will be excited when cousin Hannah gets to come to our house when Aunt Jamie goes back to work part time. Hopefully we'll still be in this sweet stage! :)

A Day at the Zoo

Matt and I took Carson to the Central Florida Zoo in Sanford this past weekend. The Central Florida Zoo isn't the biggest zoo, but it was perfect for the length of time we were able to stay. Carson is at such a wonderful stage and Matt and I are thoroughly enjoying taking him to do fun things for the first time.

The monkeys definitely caught his attention! They were making noises and swinging around their cage. He could have watched them for awhile!

After a few animal visits, we stopped at the kids area splash park. I knew that the Zoo had this, so we packed his little swim trunks. Now that Carson is walking, it was the perfect activity for him! He had SO much fun and Matt and I were laughing the entire time. He got in there with all of these bigger kids and just squealed!

They had all kinds of fountains that would turn on and off, and animals that shot water out too. There were buckets underneath trees that would randomly dump water. It was awesome!

We spent a couple of hours there and Carson was exhausted! We didn't even make it home before he was fast asleep. What a fun day and an awesome family memory we made!
