"Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates." Deuteronomy 4: 6-9

When God gives you a new direction....

"Those who know your name trust in you, for you, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you." Psalm 9:10
Matt has felt for awhile (especially after his ManUp group at church was focusing on work) that he was open to a change in his career path. He had been at his job for almost 10 years, and felt ready to move on to something different. He didn't know what, where, or how to even go about looking for something different, so we started praying together that God would show him a new way if that was His will for our family. Over a series of events, God unfolded his plan for Matt. I joined an amazing Bible study called BSF on Wednesday mornings back in January. It worked out really well for us because I could still be fed spiritually, our children were being fed spiritually in their children's classes that they offer at BSF, and I wasn't out 1 more night of the week at a ladies Bible study when Matt was home in the evenings. I was placed in a group of 12 or so women, mostly young Moms, where we talk about the lesson for the week, share prayer requests, etc. In February, I added to the A.S.K. (Ask, Seek, Knock) prayer list, which is shared among our group, for God to show Matt a new career path or confirm him to stay where he was already at. Matt and I continued to pray together for a clear direction and continued on with life. One of the sweet ladies in our group, Katie, who has been apart of BSF for 5 years, and her 4 year old daughter is in Carson's BSF children's class, had an on-going prayer request since before I even began attending BSF, for God to provide a Christian, hard-working employee to help grow their business. I prayed for her and her husband's business each week off of our A.S.K sheet, but it never dawned on me that Matt could possibly be "the" employee they had been praying for, I didn't even know what her husband did. A couple of weeks went by of us both having the same prayer requests, and I got a call from my BSF group leader on a Thursday morning. She told me that the day before, after Bible study, her and Katie had a brief discussion about what Matt's job currently was and if maybe he would be interested in hearing about their company. At first I thought to myself, this is neat, but her husband could have worked for Dell computers, something Matt has no experience in, I didn't know. My Bible study leader gave me a brief overview of what Katie told her their company was about but that I should call Katie to talk more details, and possibly have our husbands exchange numbers. I called Matt and told him what had happened and asked if he would be okay with me calling her, then giving his number out. Matt was excited to hear more, so we went down the path of all talking and exchanging numbers. Within 1 week, Matt took a day to ride with Mike, the owner, and loved the type of work he was doing. They both walked away from the day feeling like they instantly clicked, and Mike was impressed by Matt's knowledge of cars, his comfort level of the type of work, and even the relationship Matt already had with several of the dealerships and collision centers Mike had accounts with. Matt walked away from the day feeling like this was it, and God just confirmed it even more when Mike called Matt the same night and said "You're my guy, you're it, the job is yours if you want it. Think about it and pray about it with your wife and let me know." Matt and I prayed long and hard that night and really felt like this was God ordained, nothing Matt went out and looked for, and felt like this was the new direction for Matt's career path. So fast forward a month and here we are!
Matt has been riding and training with Mike for about 4 weeks now. He has quickly picked up on how to turn a scratched up or bent alloy wheel into a brand-new looking wheel! Who knew there was SO much demand for this type of work, they are swamped with business which is why Mike and Katie have been praying for an employee to help with the work load and grow even more! Recently Matt and Mike drove to Atlanta to purchase Matt's new work truck.
They do all of their work inside these mobile trailers and move all around Seminole and Volusia Counties to car dealerships, collision centers, and even residential homes as well. They have full days of appointments and the calls just keep coming in.
This is Matt's first week out on his own and he is loving it! The boys and I got to check out his new truck and trailer.

Can't start a new job without a present!

We got Matt an iPhone speaker dock and charger for his trailer, and a McDonald's gift card for all those early morning breakfasts!
Matt comes home with all kinds of pictures of the different car wheels he's worked on and loves to see his finished product. He loves how fast-paced the job is, that he's always in a different location being mobile, and the people he's working around.
We're so proud of our Daddy and how he leads us! God has truly blessed us by this new opportunity of growth and direction for our family and we're excited to be apart of this great company!
