Live Nativity

Just call us crazy at this point! Ha! After the botanical gardens, we had heard from our waitress at Crabby Bill's that this local church was doing a live drive thru nativity scene. It looked so awesome, so we decided to do it.

You pull into their parking lot, and then they hand you a cd to play as you drive through the different scenes, the angel coming to Mary, Mary and Joseph traveling to Bethlehem... 

Then the nativity scene which had live animals. The boys loved it, and the cd playing in our car made for great conversation about the true meaning of Christmas!

Our spontaneous trip was filled with awesome memories!

Florida Botanical Garden Holiday Lights

After dinner at Crabby Bill's, the boys were doing awesome so we decided to look up some fun holiday events going on around Largo. We found that the botanical gardens in the area had an awesome holiday lights show going on.

They had a gorgeous Christmas tree all lit up!

There was a sidewalk that took you around the gardens where you could see all the lights, it was beautiful!

After looking at the lights, we stopped for a juggling show! The boys were glued and talk about it still!

We visited Santa and Mrs. Claus after the juggling show!

And got some yummy homemade ice cream!

We loved eating our ice cream under the umbrella of holiday lights!

Spontaneous Indian Rocks Beach Trip

After a really busy week and hardly any quality family time, Matt surprised the boys and I with a spontaneous trip to our favorite West coast beach, Indian Rocks, after church on Sunday. It was bright and sunny when we left Orlando, and the minute we got into Indian Rocks, a thick fog had rolled in over the ocean!

What can you do?! 

Despite the fog, we still made the best of it, and had a great time! Carson

loved finding tons of shells... 

And the boys waded in the water... 

We made sandcastles and dug in the sand... 

Mommy stayed covered up with my beach towel...

While Matt taught the boys how to skip rocks on the water...

Although we really missed out on seeing our sunset, what we really love most about Indian Rocks is the restaurant Crabby Bills! 

Their seafood is SO yummy!

Christmas Lights on the House

We got right to work on the house lights! Matt let Carson help him while Tanner napped. Never too early to start teaching your boys how to do Daddy duties!

Carson was a big help! 

We add a little bit more to our house lights each year. This year we bought "Frosty"! Frosty is the highlight of each morning. Sometimes we turn him off and on several times a day!

Not sure what we'll do when Frosty has to come down, the boys are quite attached! 

Love their faces light up each night when it gets dark!

 

Christmas Tree Decorating

We love kicking off our fun Christmas season by getting our fresh Christmas tree the day after Thanksgiving!

Carson helped this year by cutting off the strings on the tree.

Tada!

The boys helped by putting on the lights.

And Carson put on our star this year!

Matt and I finished the ornaments after the boys went to bed. Our family tradition every year is I make homemade hot cocoa and chocolate chip cookies...

And we watch a Veggie Tales Christmas movie while we decorate the tree.
