"Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates." Deuteronomy 4: 6-9

Mmmm...ketchup!

I gave Carson a little side of ketchup with his chicken nuggets tonight at dinner. He wasn't so sure about it at first, but after Mommy showed him what to do a couple of times, he was hooked!
The first few bites, he thought he had to dip the chicken nugget in the ketchup, put it in his mouth, then take the chicken nugget out of his mouth to re-dip it again. :)
We might have created a bad habit here, but he enjoyed his ketchup!

Cute picture

I thought I would post this cute picture of Carson playing in his room. He looks like such a big boy! He loves to play with his train table and read books in his room all by himself. Such a cutie!

Little Gymnast

Our friends little girl Caelyn turned 2 last weekend. Her birthday party was at Brown's Gymnastics in Altamonte.
Carson was supossed to be participating in a gymnastic's class. Instead of doing what the other kids were doing (they all were a bit older), Carson decided he would try out all of the gymnastics equipment.
Daddy ran a little late to the party, so I was chasing Carson all over the gym! Gotta love our little active boy!
Carson had so much fun and had rosy red cheeks for hours after the party!

Family Clipboards

My days of being an organizational queen went out the window after Carson was born. I used to be so great at keeping things in order and everything had a place. Now...there are piles all over my house! Matt is constantly asking me, "What is all of this stuff?" And I simply tell him to just not look! I got a great idea while reading a Parents magazine at my baby appt the other day. Family Clipboards! Each member of your family gets their own clipboard. You can hang them on the fridge, in an office, or next to the door you run in and out of all the time. You simply "clip" an important piece of paperwork (appt. cards, birthday invitations, to-do lists) onto the clipboard of the person it belongs to and it keeps all of those loose papers secure and easy to find!
I made one for each of us, even baby, and hope that this helps to organize my life a little more. We'll soon see!

Easter Bunny

What a fun day we had visiting the Easter Bunny with Hannah and Aunt Jamie at the Millenia Mall. We were so thankful that there was no one in line and Carson walked right up to the Easter bunny and said, "Hi"! I was expecting tears, but there were none.
After our fun photo we walked around the mall for a bit. Hannah was such a good girl too!

Big Boy Carson using a fork!

Carson surprises us with something new everyday! My mom has been telling me for weeks that I should give him a spoon or a fork when he's eating, but I never have until the other night at dinner. He obviously watches how we all eat with a fork because he instantly knew what to do. Our big boy!

My Big Brother's Hands

My sister watched Carson one afternoon, and had him make a craft for his little brother. This poem is so special and will hang in Carson's little brother's room. The poem reads:

When I came into the world,
Mommy held me out to you.
She said to touch me softly,
She showed you what to do.

Your hands proudly held me,
You claimed me as your own.
You asked if I was "for keeps"
If you could take me home.

Your hands are Mommy's helpers,
Anything silly to make me smile.
Hunting for my lost blankie,
Pushing the stroller for awhile.

Your hands are my amusement,
Playing peek-a-boo with sheets.
Humpty Dumpty and pat-a-cake,
Tickling my tummy and my feet.

Your hands are my heroes,
I'll watch intently as you play.
My curious eyes will follow you,
I'll want to be like you one day.

As we both grow older -
A bond both strong and deep.
Between me and my big brother,
Who gave his love for keeps.

Carson's Big Brother Bash/Little Brother Shower

Matt and I are incredibly blessed to have the most amazing family and friends! They put together a Big Brother Bash for Carson in celebration of him becoming a big brother! My sister Jamie was the head of it all, and she thought of everything! The sign in table displayed Carson's favorite stuffed animals, bubbles for take home treats, adorable pictures of him, and my favorite, a Big Brother poem framed with his handprints.
The food was delicious, made by all sorts of important people in our lives.
The best part was the grilled cheese bar, so kid-friendly, but adult-friendly too! My family experimented with all sorts of "gourmet" grilled cheese sandwiches a few nights before the shower, and came up with some yummy ones!
All of Carson's friends and cousins were there to share in this special day. Even Hannah got some chill time in the ball pit.
Carson's favorite activity was the bounce houses. He got to jump with all of his little buddies.
There was a time for presents too. We were so blessed with so many different things! Diapers, wipes, clothes, and other essential items...including our top of the line double stroller!
Carson was surprised with a visit from DJ Lance Rock (aka DJ Jacob Rock) from Yo Gabba Gabba. He had a blast dancing with his Uncle Jacob to his favorite tunes!
Thank you to our friends and family for making this day SO special for all of us! We love you very much!

Yardwork day

Carson loves to be outside. He loves to be outside even more when it's helping Daddy do things around the yard. We pulled out all of Carson's yard tools so he could help too.
Such a big helper...well...somewhat! :)

Haircut/First Lollipop

Carson is such a good boy when he gets his haircut! Today was the 3rd time he's had his haircut, and he was starting to get a little antsy, so the hairdresser went and got him a lollipop. Carson has never had a lollipop before, so of course we had to video him! :)

Manatee Springs State Park

After a fun day at Weeki Wachi, we drove an hour and 30 minutes north to visit my parents, and my aunt and uncle at their campsite in Manatee Springs State Park. Nothing like a strawberry lemonade from Sonic to keep a little boy happy! We arrived at the campsite and headed straight for the playground so Carson could run off some energy. On our walk to the park, we spotted some deer.
Madison was a great playmate for Carson. She even got in the tunnel with him!
Here's proof our little guy was exhausted from his busy day. He almost fell asleep while we were swinging him!
After the playground, and a walk around the boardwalk to spot some manatees, we headed back to the campsite for some hot dogs on the fire. Carson entertained us with some dancing, and some basketball.
What a fun day we had traveling around Florida! Our 2 1/2 hour drive home wasn't too bad, and we were all ready for bed!

Weeki Wachi

Our niece Brooke is turning 6 this week! She is a big mermaid fan, so for her birthday, she wanted to go to Weeki Wachi to see the mermaids. We were definitely entertained by the underwater mermaid shows!
Carson the mermaid!
Carson did pretty well during the shows. There was one part where a turtle swam by the glass and he was yelling, "turtle!!"
After alot of fun at the park, we headed to Chili's for a birthday lunch. Brooke got a yummy chocolate cake to celebrate her birthday.
Carson was exhausted from his fun day, and fell asleep within minutes of us buckling him in the car! Happy 6th Birthday Brooke!

3D/4D Ultrasound

We were incredibly blessed with a FREE 3/D 4/D ultrasound yesterday. A friend of my sister's has a friend who was looking for pregnant women to take part in a photo shoot for advertising purposes for the company she works for. I immediately jumped on the chance to get to see our baby in 3D! Turns out, we were the last photo shoot to take place, and the photographer had enough shots from previous women, so I didn't have to get my picture taken at all, but still received the free ultrasound just for showing up. Is that a God thing or what?! Here is our sweet baby boy's profile. As soon as the sonographer put the wand on my belly, his little face immediately showed up. Matt and I both said "He looks like Carson!!"
Then we got confirmation that our little one is definitely a BOY!
We were SO excited when the sonographer flipped the vision to 3D and were in awe that you could see so much. She said that he was in the perfect position and he stayed in place so we could get lots of wonderful pictures of him.
Of course I am far enough along to realize there's a little human growing inside, but seeing him the way we were able to made Matt and I SO excited to meet him! After looking at pictures last night of Carson when he was first born, I have a feeling they just might resemble each other. We are so thrilled to be having another son and can't wait to have our family of 4 real soon!

Video of baby rubbing his eyes!

Technology is just amazing! The sonographer was able to capture our little one rubbing his eyes. This just melts my heart!
