"Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates." Deuteronomy 4: 6-9

Our sweet Hannah Grace

Auntie's have the right to brag! And our sweet Hannah Grace is one little girl to brag about. Carson and I have so much fun watching Hannah during the day while Jamie teaches.
Carson loves to play in his room, so we set Hannah up to play in there too. She loves to look at books.
Her tummy time gets quite active. She flips all over her mat, and "talks" to the toys that hang down at her. Carson loves to get right in her face and talk to her. She thinks Carson is very funny!
She is the best little baby. Always full of smiles and loves to blow bubbles and listen to her own voice.
Carson is really learning alot about being a big brother because of Hannah. He takes good care of her, always giving her a paci when she needs one, and trys to put the cap back on her bottles when she's finished. He even shares his favorite trains with her. We love you Hannah Grace!

Waiting for Daddy

Just this week, Carson has turned into quite the little talker! He now calls for "Dada" all throughout the day. When our home phone rings, he immediately yells, "Dada!" At night when it's close to the time Matt usually gets home from work, I open Carson's blinds and let him look for Dada. Last night he squealed with delight when he saw Matt's car pull in the driveway. So precious!

Coloring

My little baby isn't a little baby anymore! We bought Carson a craft table from IKEA so that he can have his own little area to sit and do his puzzles, or color, or climb and jump off like he did yesterday! :)
I was surprised at how much he loves this table. He sits in his little chair and actually colors.
I'm sure you will all be getting a picture colored by Carson very soon!

Chasing Daddy

Matt and Carson have too much fun sometimes running all around the house. This is why I'm a bit nervous about having another boy...Matt will definitely be the type of Daddy who plays rough with his little boys. Here's a video I took of them tonight. They actually were being crazier before this video! Carson sure does love his Daddy.

Big Brother Night

Nana and Papa stayed at our house while Carson took a nap so that Matt and I could go to our ultrasound. Matt had to go back to work afterwards, so I went home to tell Carson the news. When he woke up from his nap, I went into his room and told him he was going to have a baby brother. Of course he had know idea what I was telling him, but I burst into tears with the thought of Carson being a big brother! Carson says "Baby" all the time and lifts my shirt to kiss my belly. I showed him the ultrasound pictures.
Before Daddy got home from work, I took Carson to the grocery store for his favorite sprinkle sugar cookie. Matt and I wanted to take him out for some fun and celebrate that Carson was going to have a baby brother! We went to Red Brick Pizza, yum! They have TV's at every booth, and we put his favorite "Yo Gabba Gabba" show on so Mommy and Daddy could enjoy their pizza too. :)
Then it was off to Babies R Us to try out some double strollers and let Carson pick out a toy for his new baby brother.
Of course Carson picks out the most expensive teddy bear you can find! Ha! He loved on this giant Winnie the Pooh.
We finally got him to settle on the same thing, just a smaller version. He had fun running all over the store with Daddy, and I looked at bedding, and blankets, and cute boy clothes. We are so excited to have another son, and can't wait for Carson to be a big brother. Here is a video of Carson trying out the "Sit and Stand" stroller. I thought he was way too young for this stroller just yet, but he proved Mommy wrong. Such a big boy!

It's a boy!!

Last Thursday, Matt and I went for our 20 week ultrasound. We were so excited to see our little baby and to see how much he'd grown since our 8 week ultrasound. The ultrasound technician confirmed my gut feeling that IT'S A BOY!! We are super excited that Carson is going to have a baby brother! They are going to be such close buddies, especially since they will be a little less than 21 months apart. We are hoping to get another ultrasound before the big day, but here are a couple of pictures we were able to get from this ultrasound.

Putting the bassinet together

We are beginning to slowly get everything ready for the new baby. Matt cleared the last of our "office" out of the baby's room this past weekend. I figured if we do things slowly it won't seem so overwhelming when the end is drawing near!
Today, Carson helped Mommy put the bassinet together. He was very interested in what I was doing and quickly picked up on how he could help too.
What a great helper and a great big brother!

Tent

Nana and Papa got Carson a play tent for Christmas. He wasn't so sure about it at first, but now it's one of his favorite things to play with.
Today I put a blanket and a pillow inside of it. He quickly went inside and played in there for awhile.
What a sweet little face!

My little cutie

Carson is my little buddy! His personality is really beginning to come out as he gets older and he is my little funny man. Today, while running an errand with Mommy, I looked in my mirror and he was wearing his stethoscope around his neck just hanging out. His new big boy haircut makes him look even more like a little boy and I just love him to pieces!

Helping Daddy

Carson loves to be apart of whatever his Daddy is doing. He follows Matt around, especially when he's out in the yard, or working on a project in the house. Tonight Matt put our Christmas decorations back in the attic. He got out his ladder, extension cord, and a few other things. Carson was ready to help!
"Let me hold the ladder for you Daddy!"
He got a bit bored just watching Matt go up and down the stairs, so he found our watering can and began to "water" our plants. We ended up with dirt and water everywhere, but Carson had fun helping Daddy and that's all that matters!

Playdate

Carson loves having his friends Landon and Eli over to play. We get to see our friends about once a week for some fun. Today Landon and Carson were really into Carson's train table. I can't believe that our boys are big enough to play like this...they are too cute!
Eli was not going to miss out, he quickly realized the bigger boys were in the other room and crawled as fast as he could to join in on the fun!
What a fun day with our friends!

New markers

Carson tried out his new Crayola markers that Aunt Sharon and Uncle Tim got him for Christmas. He wasn't so sure what to do with them at first (they are little animals, designed for young toddlers), but quickly figured out that they made marks on his paper. After markers, we painted, and found the markers were much less messier! Thanks Aunt Sharon and Uncle Tim for my new markers...I love them!

No thanks Mom!

Carson clearly did NOT like the noodles and peas I gave him for dinner. I put his food on his tray, left for a few minutes, and returned to peas and noodles smashed all in his hair and all over the floor. His way, I guess, of saying, "No thanks Mom!"
After giving him something different for dinner, it was off to the bath for a much needed scrub down. We've started a new routine after bath where Carson gets up on his step stool like a big boy and brushes his teeth. Love this little guy!

Gaylord Palms ICE

Matt and I took our high school small group to a popular Orlando resort called The Gaylord Palms last week. The Gaylord Palms puts on an event called ICE around Christmas time where millions of pounds of ice are brought in and extremely talented people carve the ice into all sorts of things.
The conference center where ICE is held is kept at a FRIGID 9 degrees! They provide parkas for you to wear and suggest you bundle up on your own as well. Even after wearing 2 coats, and a parka, we all were still freezing!

You walk through this exhibit in amazement that people can actually carve ice into these flawless looking masterpieces! They even had a full carousel.

At the end of ICE, there are a couple of slides you can slide down. Our high school kids had fun trying to figure out how to get down these ice slides. Afterwards, we got our complimentary hot cocoa and thawed out! What a fun night!
